So after a little tinkering last night, I solved one problem but created another. I decided to try to disable the Hyperthreading in the BIOS and now Heroes runs smoothly again. Excellent! But now, when I open task manager, it only shows one CPU, as does the Device Manager. I guess the two it was showing before was actually due to the Hyperthreading (which I heard from one of our IT guys is the case) and the second processor was actually never working. I tried looking at the Intel site and it offered no help other than to check the motherboard for any jumpers which might need to be set on the motherboard but the HP site doesn’t mention anything about jumpers. I guess over the weekend I will try replace the processor in the 0 spot with the one in the 1 spot and see if that works. Hopefully that will work, and if not – I have run out of ideas.
